Open Gallery 2012

Our second annual Open Gallery was a huge success at our studio with brides and grooms and specialists in Houston area weddings coming together again for another spectacular boutique bridal show. Networking was definitely the theme with our Houston bridal vendors and potential wedding clients. It was free to all who attended with door prizes and awesome give-aways to boot! Photos courtesy of our Rammy! We were honored to be able to host the Second Annual Open House for our friends in the wedding business and look forward to the next show in 2013.

This beautiful 1965 Rolls Royce limo was provided by our personal favorite limo company Jordan Limousines

There was a great turnout at this years Open Gallery with dozens of potential brides and grooms in attendance.

Our studio was converted into a trade show floor for the day. Better than your typical bridal show because our show is always free. Music was provided by the most friendly and personable Houston DJ Rock N Robin

Hilda Kershman of Hilda Kershman Make Up Artist and minister Lynn Turner are discussing what the are all going to be doing with all of the inquiries they received today.

The Bravarian Cakery Houston’s oldest and finest Cakery, was on hand dishing up samples of delicious mouth watering wedding cake for all of us sweet tooths, Yummy!

Houston’s most passionate wedding videographer Bella Vista Productions took the time out of their incredible busy schedule to be with us. We were so honored.

Robert Harrington of Bella Vista Productions and Haley Hughes-Doyle with En Vogue Events are sharing strategies with all of their business they’re going to be receiving this year.

The girls of En Vogue Events Pam & Kelly are going over their long list of leads from the Open House together.

The Knot Magazine

Royal Oaks Country Club is featuring our beautiful wedding photos in a full page ad in the Knot Magazine, due out this Spring. Royal Oaks is a first class, private Country Club located west of Houston right off Westheimer road. The main image on the cover of the advertisement features our clients Natalie and Gene having a moment together before being wisked away to their wedding reception. This photograph of Natalie and Gene with the club in the background was taken on the spot that we like to call “the Rock,” for obvious reasons. It is a our most requested spot for photos at Royal Oaks CC.

Engagement – Railroad Style

Allow me to toot my own horn, wanted to share with you my clients’ portrait they have selected for their wedding this weekend. This beautiful portrait was shot at The Railroad Museum, Galveston Island. The attendant working that day was an Aggie and she was able to let us sneek in for a few minutes to grab this awesome shot taken between two old rail cars. My landlord, Ken Austin & Associates did a multi million dollar renovation for the Railroad museum after it was annihilated by hurricane Ike.

Winter Engagement

Its the most wonderful time of the year for photographing fine portraitures outside here in Houston, Texas. Crisp, cool, dry air mixed together with clear skies makes for very different engagement and wedding photographs as compared to the rest of the season. For example, one of my personal favorite benefits about photographing engagement shoots in the Winter time here in Houston are the trees. Absolutely love photographing trees without leaves. During the 1-2 month Houston Winter respite, you’re going to find a heavy influence of outdoor engagement portrait shoots with leafless trees. One of our favorite Winter shooting locations is pictured here below in this cluster of crape myrtles. Our handsome clients, Colbi & Bryan, did a fine job modeling here in our Winter location. For all of you Paul Oakenfold fans out there, doesn’t Bryan have a strong resemblance to Oakenfold?

Magazine Style Engagements

The following Engagement photographs, photographed right here in downtown Houston, were shot a few weeks ago right before it cold terribly cold. The first photo below was cropped in a square format because it reminds me of a cover for an Indie Artist music band magazine or CD cover. SXSW (South By Southwest) is coming up here very soon in Austin. They would be so jealous of our couple, Marie & Joshua, chillin out in Herman Park.

2011 Photo of the Year

Each year there is a photograph that touches me deeply and deserves recognition. This year, our photo of the year is a photo journalistic style image captured at the end of the reception, featuring a couples’ last dance together before the end of the wedding. What your seeing here is real, raw, pure, emotion. Untainted love between a couple so in love that it gave me goose bumps and tears of joy while I was photographing them together. Photographs like this one that capture the essence of what a wedding truly is all about, makes my career as a wedding photographer all that much more worthwhile. Thank you Victoria & Phil for flying me all the way out to the East Coast, away from my comfort zone here in Houston, to be a part of your very special wedding day.
